A Processes Flow Chart: Logical order of Daft Punk Song Lyrics
For those who know me, you know that I am a BIG fan of Daft Punk. And a co-worker today sent me a link to GraphJam, which is a site that does a phenomenal job at quantifying pop culture in graphs. After spending a few minutes perusing the site I noticed a flow-chart for a Daft Punk song, “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger;” a personal favorite. So, naturally I need to publish my two cents to my elite reader base. For those long-time readers, you may recognize this song from an earlier post I did back in July 2007.
NASCAR: More that meets the eye
Have you ever wanted to peer into the secrets of NASCAR? Have you ever ask yourself, how can I be a great racer? Well, most people think NASCAR is just a fast car going around a track hundreds of times, while people sit around watching these cars go around, hundreds of times. But they are wrong. There is an immense of amount of training, coaching and strategy that goes into this coveted race (this will become evident in the video).
Some “doctors” have claimed that the exhaust emitted from the cars is harmful when breathed, causing lowered brain activity. While environmentalist protest the races due to the harmful affects upon the environment; deteriorating the air quality in the southern region of the United States.* What do I say? BS! This amazing sport is growing to become one the largest spectator sports in the
About the clip: This is a video that delves deep into the NASCAR strategy. Truly an inside look into racing and how to beat your competition.

I Love Salmon
It has been a while since my last post, so I thought I’d write about something near and dear to my heart — salmon. Not only are they amazing cold-blooded vertebrates, but they taste delicious! With such a versatile spectrum of cooking, there’s bound to be a salmon style that stimulates your pallet. You can smoke, steam, BBQ, bake, broil, pan fry, deep fry, and sear to your liking. But wait, there’s more! Salmon is so amazing that you don’t even have to cook it, exemplified by the almighty Japanese cuisine, sushi.
Salmon contains a high amount of Omega-3 fatty acids, which research has shown to be good for your heart, arteries, skin, joints and also your brain. According to nutritiondata.com, a 3 ounce piece of farmed Atlantic Salmon contains 1,921 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids. Plus, 3 ounces of salmon only has 175 calories and 19 grams of protein, making it a great diet food.
As if this little spiel on salmon wasn’t entertaining and informative enough, please enjoy this music video by the Chemical Brothers featuring Fatlip. You’ll learn a little more about salmon and pick up a few dance moves in the process.
Chuck / Carrie, this one is for you:
Mark Brown - The Journey Continues
Rumors are out — Radio1 has been playing it for several weeks, Cr2 records are saying December, while others say the release is out in February. Regardless, when this record hits the streets, it’ll be hot.

Skydiving Anyone?
In the summer of 2005, I went on a two month long European vacation. On one of my stops, I found myself in Interlaken, Switzerland; a quaint, quintessential Swiss village that was beautiful (as you can see from the video).
My travel companion (the other guy in the video, Andy) and I had the crazy notion of skydiving. Generally, I’d stray away from skydiving in foreign countries, but Switzerland seemed like an up-and-up country.
Camera Phone in Full Effect
A man wiser than me once said: Some times you eat the bar and sometimes the bar eats you.
This is a moment where the bar eats a patron. Notice at the end of the first clip, the bouncer of this fine establishment escorted our erratic dancer off the floor. Mind you this is just a normal bar (Taylor’s) and not what you might think it is.
Anyone for a little late night fight?
Last July while I was in Seattle, a fight amongst teens erupted out of no where; in the middle of a street parade, no less.
DAFT PUNK!!!
![]()
Last Sunday (7/29), I saw Daft Punk play live at the WaMu Theater in Seattle, Washington. It was the most amazing show, ever. I had general admission tickets so I was at the ground floor and was able to see everything. The lighting effects were custom made by L.E.D. Effects who do world-class lighting design and fabrication.
Daft Punk is composed of a two French guys, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They produce a house, techno, dance-break, vocal sound that is unique unto themselves.

Daft Hands
A quick one:
Have you seen this video? It’s awesome. Thank God we have have people who have a lot of extra time on their hands (no pun intended).
BTW, I am going to Daft Punk this month in Seattle, so for all you of you Daft Punk fans, be jealous.
Have You Experienced the Oregon Country Fair?
Saturday of last weekend, my brothers and I spent the day at the Oregon Country Fair. And, OMG, what the spectacle. If you haven’t ever been, it’s a must-see before you die. Oddly enough, I have talked to a few Eugenians who have lived here for years but have yet to experience the bohemian, free-spirited culture that the Fair has to offer.
Ever have you seen people dressed up in the most oddly-of-crafted clothing and costumes? Drum circles erupt out of nowhere, booths at every turn that emphasize on the local mentality and values. Come for the great food, stay for the unique shows and entertainment. You’ll never see a man wearing a lizard suit with bird perched on his shoulder who plays the violin and a contortionist show happening within the same vicinity.
